Brookeville, located in the north of Washington D.C, is a beautiful town in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. In 2010, it had a population of 134 stated in the 2010 United States census with 20883 zip code. During the War of 1812, Brookeville was famous for being the “United States Capital for a Day”. It was colonized by Quakers in the late 18th century and officially incorporated as a city in 1808.

At that time, it served as a market town for agricultural industries but during the 19th century, Brookeville had a post office, a boy’s school, a blacksmith shop, and several mills. Development increased in the 1950s into a suburban community. Residents with school aged children enjoy some of the highly rated Sherwood High School,  Rosa M. Parks Middle School, Greenwood Elementary School, and Good Counsel High School.
