North Potomac, one of the suburbs in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, is situated 32 km from Washington D.C. and 8.0km north of the Potomac River with a 20878 zip code. North Potomac did not acquire its own identity until 1989 when the United States Post Office approved the use of the North Potomac name. As stated in the 2020 United States Census, it has a 23,720 population in total and listed North Potomac in 1970 but not 1980.

This famous city was farmland and was used for growing tobacco but was replaced by dairy and wheat farming after the soil depleted. Now, North Potomac is one of the richest neighborhoods of Maryland.  Residents are lucky to have near high-rated schools, hospitals, parks, and recreation. Residents won’t have problems when they encounter difficulties when it comes to their children’s education and health. Some of the schools near North Potomac include Quince Orchard High School, Lakelands Park Middle School, and Travilah Elementary School. The five-star rating medical center which is the Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove is the nearest general hospital.

Commuters in North Potomac have access to Maryland Route 28 that connects with Rockville and provides access to Interstate 270. Red Line stations nearest to North Potomac are on the west side of the county including Twinbrook, Rockville, and Shady Grove. These metro stations will be a way for you to travel anywhere including Washington D.C. There are also Ride-on bus systems available for commuters which connect them to Rockville Metro stations, Quince, Shady Grove Hospital, and Traville Transit Center and Universities at Shady Grove.
